The church of Thiré, known as theSaint Peter's Church, is the first to benefit from the support of the fonds de Dotation France, Terre de Clochers.
Since its creation, its members have been deeply touched by the natural elegance of this stone church, its square bell tower, both sober and harmonious, pierced with campanary bays in the middle, and the balanced proportions of the whole building. Built in 1160 on a site with much older remains, Saint Peter's Church is a remarkable testimony of local religious and architectural history, especially thanks to the two original spans, still visible today, typically Romanesque.
